Integrated LED Pavers Bring New Lighting Options to Rooftop Spaces

Integrated LED paver lights are giving designers new ways to illuminate rooftop amenity spaces without adding visual clutter

MEDINA, OH, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- As rooftops take on a larger role in hospitality, multifamily and mixed-use developments, architects are paying closer attention to how lighting, flooring and building systems work together. One emerging approach is to integrate lighting directly into the walking surface.

The system incorporates low-voltage LEDs directly into precast concrete or plank glass pavers, allowing illumination to become part of the hardscape rather than an added fixture.

For designers, the appeal is as much about restraint as visibility. LED paver lights can help define walkways, gathering areas, pool decks and terraces while preserving open sightlines and reducing the need for poles or other above-ground lighting elements. The same approach can also be used in plazas, courtyards and other applications where in-ground paver lights are part of the design.

At Atomic Golf in Las Vegas, structural glass flooring was coordinated with LED panels to create an illuminated architectural feature.

Together, projects like these point to a broader shift in rooftop and outdoor design: paving is increasingly being used to manage light, movement, drainage and visual identity at the same time.
