SerialTek Announces Kodiak™ PCIe® 7.0 Protocol Test and Analysis System, Shipping Q1 2027

SerialTek Kodiak PCIe 7.0 protocol test and analysis system with 'Introducing Kodiak PCIe 7.0' headline

SerialTek Kodiak PCIe 7.0 Protocol Test and Analysis System: 128 GT/s, x16. Shipping Q1 2027.

Kodiak delivers analysis in seconds, not hours, at 128 GT/s — technical briefings available now

With Kodiak, the data never leaves the system — analysis starts seconds after capture, whether the engineer is at the bench or across the world.”
— SerialTek CEO Paul Mutschler
LONGMONT, CO, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- SerialTek, a provider of advanced protocol test, analysis, and compliance solutions for PCI Express® (PCIe®), Compute Express Link® (CXL®), and NVM Express® (NVMe®) technologies, today announced the Kodiak™ PCIe 7.0 Protocol Test and Analysis System, for capturing, analyzing, and generating PCIe 7.0 traffic at 128 GT/s across all sixteen lanes. Scheduled to ship in first quarter 2027 to meet first‑wave customer demand, the new system marks the third PCIe generation built on Kodiak’s accelerated, clean‑sheet architecture, introduced at PCIe 5.0, proven through PCIe 6.0, and designed from the start for the massive data volumes emerging with PCIe 7.0.

Paul Mutschler, SerialTek CEO, said, “When we built Kodiak, our goal was to eliminate the pain points engineers had endured for years: slow trace processing, hours wasted moving captures around, an engineer stuck at one bench because that’s where the software was, and probes that disturb the very signals you’re trying to measure. PCIe 7.0 doubles data rates again and tightens every margin. That is the environment Kodiak was built to handle. With Kodiak, the data never leaves the system — analysis starts seconds after capture, whether the engineer is at the bench or across the world.”

From capture to analysis in seconds at 128 GT/s scale
Surging data volumes from AI training clusters and hyperscale data centers are pushing PCIe 7.0 into accelerators, network interfaces, and storage devices. At these volumes, inefficient post-capture workflows such as transferring traces from the analyzer to a PC and processing them in desktop software can delay visibility of the first packet by minutes or hours. In contrast, Kodiak processes data at the point of capture. Its embedded server, onboard SSD storage, and end-to-end optimized data paths let engineers pull up large traces in seconds, without transferring data for processing elsewhere. That advantage multiplies across a validation cycle: fast capture and review keeps engineers working efficiently with the trace instead of waiting on it. In a tight validation window, that difference can be a meaningful factor in keeping a product introduction on schedule.

SI-Fi™ signal integrity: transparent probing at 128 GT/s
At 128 GT/s, even minimal loss or distortion from an interposer in the electrical path can critically impact PCIe 7.0 performance, as shrinking electrical margins make signal integrity increasingly more challenging. SerialTek’s SI-Fi™ (Signal Integrity Fidelity) technology is engineered for ultra-low loss and transparent signal tapping, with a substantial portion of the PCIe 7.0 program’s engineering investment dedicated to advancing these capabilities. Integrated power analysis correlates voltage, current, and power with protocol events on a single timeline. The Kodiak PCIe 7.0 system ships with a complete set of SI-Fi interposers and fixtures across industry-standard form factors.

Collaborative from any browser, automatable by any pipeline or AI agent
Kodiak’s BusXpert™ web platform runs in any modern browser on any operating system. There is no software to install or client to maintain, and captured files never need to move. Analysis runs directly from the equipment: processing and storage happen entirely on Kodiak’s embedded server, so the engineer’s PC keeps its memory, disk space, and responsiveness even with the largest traces open. Distributed teams can open the same trace concurrently over secure remote connections.

Kodiak is fully programmable. A REST API drives every function of the system. A Python SDK integrates capture, analysis, and traffic generation into CI/CD pipelines for unattended regression. SerialTek’s own validation engineers use this interface to apply AI to link statistics across multi-day windows, catching drift and anomalies that no one is watching for in real time. As teams build agentic workflows around their test equipment, Kodiak’s programmable architecture already supports them.

PCI-SIG® authorized compliance testing
SerialTek is an authorized provider of PCI Express 6.0 link and transaction layer compliance testing. Thanks to optimized data paths that accelerate analysis, Kodiak completes a full compliance session in under 30 minutes, at least twice as fast as similar solutions. As the PCIe 7.0 compliance program takes shape, SerialTek intends to bring the same execution speed to 128 GT/s testing.

Availability and technical briefing requests
The Kodiak PCIe 7.0 x16 Protocol Test and Analysis System is scheduled for release in Q1 2027. Teams developing PCIe 7.0 silicon and systems for AI and hyperscale applications are encouraged to contact SerialTek for a technical briefing to align capabilities, configurations, and deployment timing with their specific program requirements.
